INSPIRED: "Sleeping Beauty" themed wedding!

A lady on WeddingBee.com is having a Sleeping Beauty-themed wedding (colors are red, pink, and gold with a hint of green)! I dreamed up this inspiration board for her just for fun. What an enchanting site her wedding will be! I'm smitten...

Scent of a woman.

I am on the hunt for a perfume to wear on our big day. What a great way to conjure up all those sweet memories. I've been looking at a few perfumes, and if you've smelled/worn them before please give your own little review in the comment box. I want to choose a classic perfume that will be continued (not that it is guaranteed) because I want to have a bottle for the rest of my life, LOL. By the way, for some reason my body chemistry does not go very well with musky-scented perfume. I've got a few that my eye is on....

1. Ralph by Ralph Lauren. Believe it or not, before I was about to be born my mom fell in love with the name Lauren because she loved this perfume. The original bottle was dark, square, with a golden script font. Anywho, I grew up smelling this particular scent on my mom and I always loved it. Of course, I was too young for such a sophisticated and clean scent. This one probably isn't my first choice for my wedding day, but it's still in my top favorites. I also like Ralph Lauren's "Cool" scent (the hot pink bottle, it's so fresh and sweet).

2. Oh, Lola! by Marc Jacobs. I have no idea how this pretty little bottle smells but I adore Marc Jacob's perfumes. He gets it right every time for me. I'm sold just looking at it. I have a strong feeling this might be the one. Please let me know if you've worn/smelt this beauty before!
3. Blooming Bouquet by Miss Dior Cherie. I don't know, but I'm intrigued. I really want to smell this one! It came out this year, anyone tried this one? It looks so sweet and feminine.
4. Pink Sugar by Acqualina. This excites the sweet tooth of both my childhood and adulthood. I'm not sure if I want to smell like a cotton candy bride, but it sure smells delightful and it definitely elevates my mood. I've loved this one for years after discovering it at Sephora. How cute is that swirly perfume solid? ;)

5. Lovestruck by Vera Wang.

"Lovestruck from Vera Wang. A modern twist on Romeo and Juliet, it's all about Vera's interpretation of being madly in love."

I love Vera Wang. She's been doing so many things lately, which is fine with me. Since I was little, I became obsessed over her wedding dresses, mostly because I wanted to be Cinderella. Now, I am very curious to know what this lovely little thing smells like. It's total eye candy! I've used her Princess (purple bottle) and just loved it but the musky smell was a little overpowering for me as I mentioned above.

So what's a favorite scent of yours?
Did you choose/wear a specific one for your big day?

Here we come 2013...

We've been engaged since November 7th, 2010 (on my birthday). Since then, we knew because of our degrees, we'd be waiting for at least two years. When settled on a possible date, our engagement will last for three years. And guess what? We've just hit our 2 year mark today! I'm up at 2am writing this. Also, I think I get bothered when I have to use the word "year" and its plural form "years" (sounds like light-years). And, I get tired of seeing the "oh-my-gosh-really-that-is-so-far-away" look on some people's faces when I say 2013.

Hello? We're still in college trying to pursue our degrees so we can get married before we take on grad school together. What's wrong with that? If we had the money and the great job, we'd be married right now--end of story. We don't like the long waiting period, but we both know it's worth it and that we must enjoy the present. (Sorry for the rant, that is quite unlike me, trust me). Now I don't really have to worry so much! By tomorrow, I can say ONE YEAR and 11 months. Sorry--that just feels so good to say. Any 2013 brides out there feel (or have felt) my pain?

INSPIRED: Watercolor Wedding

As an artist, I find it hard to resist these watercolor invites. We're having our wedding in the beach city of Santa Barbara (our colors our navy blue and green--we each chose our favorite color), so naturally, I wanted to find wedding things that are similar. Plus, why not bring on the water in this board! What are your wedding colors and why did you choose them?

1. Shoes: Pour La Victoire.

INSPIRED: Ruffles

Ruffles.
I adore them. Isn't it romantic and full of whimsy?
Takes me back to the fun, carefree days of being a princess for a day
when we played dress-up and had pretend tea parties.

Spicy Ceremony Music: Meet the classical guitar!

I've been researching here & there what type of music we should have for our Spanish Courthouse wedding. Looking for local musicians in Santa Barbara narrowed down my choice, and I fell in love with the classical guitar (my fiance is a fanatic about anything classical). Not only is it romantic and a bit seductive to the ears, it is different and quite spicy if you ask me!

Here's a fun fact: I have some Spanish heritage--too bad I can't handle the spicy foods, oh well. My great, great grandfather traveled from his homeland of Spain to the United States to begin a new life here. My fiance also has a Spanish heritage within his family and his stomach can't handle spicy food either. So, in a way, it feels special to honor that part of our family history and to know it's somewhat a part of us. Of course, this is on the top of our list (and maybe even our budget, not sure yet. I'm waiting to get a price quote).

P.S.
Go ahead and share your
musical plans below if you'd like to!

And, if you are craving some romantic tunes,
listen below for this instrument in Canon D.
