Pearls of Honor

I've been feeling so special for the past couple of days!

One thing I always dreamed of was being able to pass down "engagement/wedding" heirlooms to my children, grandchildren, etc. Recently, my future mother-in-law invited me to lunch and I brought all of our wedding plans with me in a pink, floral folder. Needless to say she loved the place, our new wedding date, and was ready to take a vacation to Santa Barbara to see the site!

That's not all, she brought to my attention her pearl necklace and matching earrings that hold little diamonds. Her husband bought her the set years ago. She asked if I would like to wear them on our wedding day. I was so elated, but more than that, incredibly honored as I happily accepted (bouncing and beaming in my seat at the restaurant). There is something amazing about passing down something. I've always inherited nice hand-me-down clothing from my cousins when I was younger--nothing beats a strand of pearls that make you feel more a part of the family, but most of all more like a bride.

P.S.
What do you think of this wedding color palette:
Navy blue and a creamy ivory?
I sense a Grecian/Nautical vibe.

I love pearls. My ladies and I will be wearing pearls on the big day. Also, our colors are navy and ivory (so obviously, I'm a fan!).

Lyn,

What a coincidence! Looks like this inspiration board was just for you! Well then, I believe these colors were a made for each other. And you can't go wrong with pearls. Timeless!

I got inspired by a white, lace shrug and navy/ivory floral printed dress that were hanging to dry in my room. The colors complemented one another, brought about elegance, were easy on the eyes, and were somewhat exotic together (I'm dreaming of Greece by the way).

~It's incredible what simple an unlikely things can lead to inspiration. It's all in the details, I guess!
