BON APPÉTIT: Strawberry & Peach Cream Smoothies!

Made these sweet delights at the top of my head as the August weather heated up here in Southern California. I spend lots of time in the kitchen baking and cooking whenever I can. Not wanting to spend a few bucks on a smoothie down the street, I whipped out simple ingredients and tossed it in the blender. I'm a bit of a health nut thanks to my dad, so I strive to use the freshest and most natural ingredients. My fiance loved it, too. These are a perfect way to end the summer and beat the heat. Have fun with it--tweak things to your liking or add some more fruit! Here's my mini tutorial:
Grab These:
#1
1-2 peaches
(I used one. Frozen or room temperature)
#2
About 2-3 cups sliced strawberries
(frozen or room temperature)
#3
1 Cup of Trader Joe's Mango Green Tea
#4
1 and 1/2 cups of Trader Joe's Vanilla Yogurt.
#5
A few squirts of Barlean's Flax Seed Oil
#6
About 1/2 to 1 Cup of Baker's Sugar
Add or shorten to your liking.
(C&H brand, ultra-fine pure cane sugar)
#7
3-4 cups of ice (however much you need)
#8
Lastly, swirl some whipped cream on top
if you have a sweet tooth like us! ;)
Throw fruit in blender and pour Mango Green Tea in as the base.
Blend until mixture is slushy and smooth.
Throw in your ice and set on 'crush ice.'
Add more ice if needed to make the blend thicker.
Isn't the color gorgeous?
Add vanilla yogurt.
The color should create a soft, light pink.
Then, add the flax seed oil and blend away...
Add your whipped cream and voila! Enjoy!
You can add a pretty garnish such as a
strawberry or peach and lay it on the cream or
slice it and let it sit on the brim of the glass.
Happy fiance :)
(excuse the torn wallpaper on the wall,
family remodel is in progress).

P.S.
A lot was left over so I stored it in tupperware
and tucked it in the freezer. Don't over-fill the
container(s)--the liquid needs room to expand.
