Behind the Scenes: The couple behind the blog.

Hi there!
Benjamin & Lauren here!

You've seen the inspiration boards, wedding details,
but here's a fun post with a ton of fun facts about us you
probably don't really need to know. Enjoy, friends!

1. We are high school sweethearts. We lived 3-5 miles away from each other practically our whole lives and didn't meet until that fateful day in high school at the front door of the only class we ever had together. This December will be our 4 year anniversary.

2. Our first "date" was at the Asia Pacific Museum in Pomona, California. We're pretty artsy and love history.

3. Ben asked me to be his girlfriend under the stars at we slow danced in the cold at a Christmas Eve party that was a part of his band member event (he played saxophone).

4. I stubbed my toe on our second date at the movie theaters and was profusely bleeding. My toe nail was ripping off and I was incredibly embarrassed. He rushed me into the restroom and wiped down my toe for me--such a tender heart I fell in love with! :)

5. I started calling him "Snow Bunny" as a pet name. We call each other Mr. and Mrs. Snow Bunny. It just stuck on us ever since and we like it that way.

 for our 3-year anniversary)

6. He is really good with numbers, money, and saving. I'm not.

7. Ben saw a llama one day and casually said, "Look, a Dalai Llama!" I had to educate him...

8. The very first time he told me that he loved me was in my room, as he recited a poem he wrote. It ended with those three words. Previously, we had caught ourselves on the phone having "I love you" on the tips of our tongues before we said goodbye.

9. We bicker like an old, married couple in the car when we are completely lost! It's a good thing we have a sense of humor. Honestly, it is difficult for us to be mad or upset with each other; it doesn't last very long and we like it that way.

10. Ben can't whistle. It might be genetic?

What a HUNK! ;)

11. It might be the artistic side of me, but I am more of an introvert. He is a mixture of both. I am an AVID tutor at a high school and have been working there for three years now. I am slowly coming out of my shell and am learning new things everyday. Ben works in the physics department at a school district as a student teacher and is also a private tutor on the side. Funny how we have such "educational" jobs. Not bad for college students, right?

12. He is a true gentleman. To this day, he still gets mad at me when I try to open a door, the car door, etc by myself. When I was sad and he found out, he shows up at my door with my favorite smoothie and a bundle of wildflowers. We are sometimes convinced that we belong in another time period. Our friends and family members call us old-fashioned.

13.  We love classical music. And we love strawberry Italian ice with frozen custard...the best! We don't like TV (although sometimes we will watch a movie). We'd rather have a wholesome conversation.

14. For our honeymoon, we both really want to explore Greece! We've never been out of the U.S. before and we are ready for adventure. Ben wants me to try seafood (didn't grow up eating it and I'm kind of grossed out by it), so I guess Greece would be a good place to try it, no?

15. Ben is naturally a scientist and mathematician. I am an artist and designer at heart. I feel we balance each other in a unique way and both love learning new things from each other. He wants to be an educator in Physics and I am thinking of becoming an Art Therapist. We both desire to use our education to not only pay the bills, but to help, touch, and inspire people using the gifts we have.

16. Maybe it's a lonely-college-state-of-mind just getting to me, but I am realizing how I don't have "friends." I am so busy with work, school and studying, and trying to get enough sleep as it is. But then again, I know that my true best friend is my future husband. And that right there is more than enough for me :)

17.  If I write one more fun fact, I seriously won't stop--So nonetheless, we can't wait to finally be married, finish our Bachelor's degrees and begin graduate school together. I don't know what the future holds for us or where we will go, but I know Who holds the future and who takes care of us...

I love this man.
I love my best friend.

I truly see and feel God's infinite
love for me through him each day.
It brings tears to my eyes!

P.S.
We've got about 1 year and 8 months to go!
