It's not where you are, but who you are with.

So true. We have changed our wedding ceremony and reception site! Yay! I'm up late, burning the early AM oil, and blogging. I should be called the midnight blogger or something. All of my best thoughts and ideas seem to come at night, when my mind begins to slow dance and relax. Well, we have chosen the S.E. Smith Courtyard at California Baptist University. We have butterflies about it. Things, honestly, weren't working out for us at our previous venue. Words cannot describe how happy and at peace we are with our choice! It felt so good making a firm decision together without worrying about what everyone thought.

Here's a little lesson that is huge. Weddings celebrate two becoming one. Not fancy cocktails, dancing, pretty flowers, platters of food, or the DJ that plays the best songs of the year. If anything could describe our wedding day, it would be that we want to bring back the focus to what is most important. I'm sorry to vent about this to you, but I am sick and tired of living in a culture that tells us what weddings should be and shouldn't be. If you don't have a certain this or that, your wedding's reputation is down the drain and your guests leave unsatisfied. When did it have to be this way? Simple, natural, and pure love. That is what we are going to celebrate. Sometimes you have to put your foot down and make a decision regardless of what your family or friends may think. That's what we are learning as we are engaged--when we are married, I am sure we are going to make much, much larger decisions together! :) Afterall, it is our day.
