Multicultural Surprise!

Traditions actually have a purpose and story behind them. Most wedding traditions used today are watered-down, sadly, and we don't even think about it. I asked Ben what we could do to make our day totally unique. Something people will remember and talk about for a long time, while staying true to who we are what we value. I don't like cootie-cutter stuff. We joked about having a beautiful and exotic Indian wedding, but I'm not too crazy about having a wedding that lasts for for than a few days. But I think I'd rather wear a white dress. But then again, red or white dress, who is to say what is beautiful and what isn't?

I decided to jot down our ethnicity. Ben is mostly Swiss, German, Spanish, and Cherokee Indian. As for me, I'm English, Dutch, German, French, Scottish, Irish, Italian, Spanish, Sioux Indian...and the list goes on. I tried to research wedding traditions from those countries that our ancestors are from. It was neat to see how we borrow so much from other places and don't even know the meaning behind it. It's just a norm.

To be continued...!
