Heart of gold

Recently, I asked Ben what kind of wedding ring he would like. I figured he was into the silver-ish metals, and suggested maybe we can find one that will match my set. He said in a stern, cheerful voice: "Honey, I want a gold one. I was thinking of the Lord of the Rings and it would be so cool if..." I laughed really, really hard. Gold band it is, my love!

(I just laughed as I googled the ring from the Lord of the Rings movie. Now I know why he wants a little design around the band)

If you know him, you know he loves things like the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, classical music, science, math....and all around sweet, old-fashioned guy! But then again, to me, he is so much more than that! I like stuff to match, so I didn't quite understand why he wanted gold. Maybe as an artist, I am so picky and so used of having the say in what goes and what doesn't. After all, he let me pick out my ring. It made me smile at how happy he was with his choice. I'm learning what it means to compromise. I am so looking forward to getting him a gold band he will love and wear for the rest of our lives! I found a site where they make these rings out of real gold as wedding bands. I think he's going to like this idea.

I love you Benjamin Knisley.
You have a heart of gold.
